Japanese manufacturer to expand U.S. workforce to meet demand

HOUSTON, U.S. -- Japanese air conditioner manufacturer Daikin Industries will expand production at its Texas plant by roughly 10% to around 5.4 million units this fiscal year to capture rising demand for residential cooling systems.

The production complex just outside of Houston will also expand its workforce by 10% to approximately 14,000 people.
