TOKYO -- After taking Japan's appliance market by storm with sleek, high-end toasters and fans, Balmuda is now bringing its design- and user-focused approach to the smartphone market with its first model debuting later this month.

Balmuda announced Tuesday that it will launch its Android-based smartphone on Nov. 26. The Balmuda Phone, which is slightly smaller than the iPhone13 mini, features an ergonomic design with rounded corners and a curved 4.9-inch screen.
