SEOUL -- Samsung Electronics plans to roll out energy-efficient air conditioners in the North American market that use artificial intelligence to cut power consumption by up to 30%.

Samsung will sell the units through a joint venture with Lennox, a leading U.S. distributor of air-conditioning systems. The venture is expected to be operational in the second half of the year
