SYDNEY -- Woodside Energy Group is expanding its liquefied natural gas investments in the U.S., as the Australian oil and gas giant anticipates friendly fossil fuel policies under the incoming administration of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.

"We have what I think are world class growth opportunities that set Woodside up to be a vibrant company in the 2030s and even into the 2040," CEO Meg O'Neill told Nikkei in an interview on Monday, referring to Woodside's LNG project in the southern state of Louisiana.
