TOKYO -- Japanese and South Korean companies will team up to curb methane emissions from gas fields, encouraging suppliers of liquefied natural gas to provide information about their footprint of a major contributor to global warming, Nikkei has learned.
More than 20 Japanese comes will join the CLEAN initiative led by Japan's JERA and Korea Gas. They include such major LNG buyers as Tokyo Gas, Mitsubishi Corp. and Mitsui & Co., along with smaller regional players like Hiroshima Gas.
