MANILA/TOKYO -- Philippine conglomerate Aboitiz and Japan's Kawasaki Heavy Industries are setting out to build a renewable energy model for developing countries that can provide electricity as reliably as coal or natural gas.
The partners' test bed for this technology is the Philippines, a regional leader in renewables that aims to have 50% of its power come from these sources by 2040.
