SINGAPORE -- Singapore will develop a floating liquified natural gas (LNG) terminal, working with a unit of Japanese shipping company Mitsui OSK Lines, as the city-state works to bolster its supply of fuel for power generation and further its ambition to become an energy trading hub.

Singapore's state-owned natural gas company, Singapore LNG Corp., announced Wednesday that it had signed a deal with a subsidiary of Mitsui OSK to charter a so-called floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) for more than a decade.
