SEOUL/TAIPEI -- Asian economies are divided over their approach toward a proposed liquefied natural gas project in the U.S. state of Alaska, with Taiwan expressing eagerness over collaborating with the U.S., while South Korea is hesitant over the expense.

South Korea's Finance Minister Choi Sang-mok and Trade Minister Ahn Duk-geun met Thursday with their U.S. counterparts, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, for two-plus-two talks in Washington.
