HOUSTON, Texas -- A technology used in shale gas fracking is breathing new life into geothermal energy in the U.S., creating business opportunities for companies such as Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
Mitsubishi Heavy in February acquired a small stake in Fervo Energy, a geothermal power startup based in Houston, Texas. The Japanese group aims to supply turbines for Fervo.
