Japan's JGC wins 2nd floating LNG order from Malaysia's Petronas

Engineering group to partner with Samsung Heavy on latest project

TOKYO -- Japanese engineering group JGC Holdings has won its second order to build a floating liquefied natural gas production base for Malaysian state-run energy company Petronas as demand for LNG grows worldwide.

JGC will partner with Samsung Heavy Industries for the project in the eastern state of Sabah, with completion planned for 2027. The platform is expected to be one of the largest of its kind in the world.
