FT guaranteed editorial independence

TOKYO -- Nikkei executives held a press conference July 24 in Tokyo and made clear that the Financial Times will maintain its editorial independence.

     "We trust the current managing officers and chief editors at the FT," said Nikkei President and CEO Naotoshi Okada. "The FT will continue to be the FT. The stronger the FT, the better for Nikkei."
