NEW YORK -- The fraud trial of ex-Goldman Sachs banker Roger Ng over Malaysia's 1MDB scandal is about to enter a new phase, but its outcome may be set by three weeks of testimony from a former colleague turned star prosecution witness that will wrap up on Wednesday.
Both prosecutors and defense attorneys have indicated that the credibility of the star witness -- Goldman's former Southeast Asia chairman and Ng's superior, Tim Leissner -- is central to their case.
