BOJ considers announcing JGB purchase dates in advance

Central bank hopes to keep yields steady by reducing uncertainty

TOKYO -- The Bank of Japan is considering releasing the dates of planned Japanese government bond buying operations ahead of time, seeking to prevent a repeat of recent yield jumps fueled by market uncertainty.

The central bank would provide a schedule for each month on the last trading day of the preceding month, starting as early as its March purchases. Major market participants have been informed of the possible change of practice.
