TOKYO -- Daiwa Securities Group is teaming with Singapore-based cryptocurrency startup Penguin Securities Holdings to tap growing interest in the assets among younger, wealthy investors worldwide.

Daiwa did not reveal details of their capital partnership in its Monday release. But the Japanese financial group apparently invested over 1 billion yen ($6.65 million) in Penguin in late February for a stake of more than 10%.
