Japan's SBI Shinsei Bank triples interest rate for young depositors

Lender will offer those 28 and younger 0.3% rate attract future borrowers

TOKYO -- Japan's SBI Shinsei Bank will raise interest rates for depositors 28 and younger to 0.3% per year, roughly three times the usual amount for ordinary deposit accounts, in a bid to win future customers.

Fees for young depositors will also be waived on unlimited withdrawals from ATMs at affiliated convenience stores.
