TOKYO -- Mizuho Financial Group will partner with U.S. pensions consultant Mercer to enter the comprehensive asset management business for corporate pension funds, educational institutions and other institutional clients.

Mizuho plans to begin offering the services by the end of September. The move will mark the first time a Japanese megabank enters the comprehensive asset management sector, a field that is well established in the U.S. and Europe.
