TOKYO -- Fintech startup MarCoPay is expanding its financial services aimed at Filipino seamen, including by offering QR-code payments and loans. These services are designed to meet their unique needs and make their lives at sea more convenient and secure.
"As a one-stop financial platformer for seafarers in the Philippines, we value them in a way that local financial institutions cannot," Toshiaki Fujioka, president of MarCoPay, told Nikkei Asia in an interview.
