BANGKOK -- Thai officials have launched an all-out effort to control an invasive species of fish native to Africa that has caused substantial damage to the seafood industry.
The blackchin tilapia is a voracious omnivore that can live in freshwater and saltwater. It is known for breeding rapidly: Eggs hatch after roughly 20 days, with 99% doing so successfully.
