SHANGHAI -- An ultrahigh-end French restaurant in Shanghai with three Michelin stars will suspend its business indefinitely, the latest casualty of China's consumer spending slump caused by prolonged property market woes.

Ultraviolet by Paul Pairet will "be put on hold indefinitely as a restaurant opened to the public within the coming year," it said Wednesday, citing disruptions from a surrounding construction site.
