TOKYO -- Japan's House Foods Group will expand production of curry roux in China, responding to the increasing popularity of the dish.

The top curry producer in Japan will invest 1.3 billion yen ($11.4 million) to add a new line at its factory in Zhejiang Province, increasing capacity by 35%. Commencing work within the year, House Foods expects the Chinese expansion to go online in 2023.
