TOKYO -- A Japanese drugmaker faces serious questions over its response to health problems that may be linked to its supplements after three more deaths were revealed.
Kobayashi Pharmaceutical said on Thursday that two more people had died after taking a product containing red yeast rice, called beni koji in Japan. Both had shown symptoms consistent with kidney problems. The drugmaker said on Friday that another death could be linked to the supplement.
