GUANGZHOU -- Kewpie has developed a recipe for success in the Chinese market: teaching people about the health benefits of eating raw vegetables to sell more of its bottled dressings and mayonnaise.

The strategy has helped China become a crucial market for the Japanese food company, which is looking to push sales even further, boosting revenue there 20% in the year ending in November.
