TOKYO -- Myanma Economic Holdings Ltd. "unjustly" petitioned a Yangon court to end its joint venture with Kirin Holdings in Myanmar, the Japanese beverage company said Wednesday in urging the court to dismiss the filing by the military-linked conglomerate.

MEHL last week filed to dissolve the venture, Myanmar Brewery. Kirin, in its statement, called the move a "violation of the joint venture agreement" as well as of the Southeast Asian nation's laws and regulations.
