TOKYO -- McDonald's Holdings (Japan) reported a record net profit for the January-June half thanks to strong customer traffic despite price hikes, but the popularity of $5 meals in the U.S. market raises concern about belt-tightening among consumers.
Consolidated net profit for the first half reached 14.8 billion yen ($101 million), up 31% year-on-year, the fast-food company said on Friday.
