SAPPORO, Japan -- The northern city of Sapporo is one of Japan's hottest destinations for ramen. Now, some of the companies behind that success are bringing their flavors closer to overseas markets.

Nishiyama Seimen, which makes 40 million servings of noodles a year and sells to 35 international markets, plans to open its first overseas production facility in Germany in 2026.
