ISLAMABAD -- Saudi fried-chicken chain Albaik is set to open in Pakistan, marking its latest foray outside the Persian Gulf, but the expansion was unlikely to open the tap on some $25 billion in expected investment from the kingdom, observers say.

The company's plans were confirmed by its owner, Rami Abu Ghazaleh, at a meeting with Pakistani Trade Minister Jam Kamal Khan in Riyadh this month.
