SEOUL -- Starbucks will open on Friday a South Korean store in a park observatory roughly 1.5 kilometers from the border with North Korea, offering customers a view across the Demilitarized Zone separating the two countries.

The U.S.-based coffee chain's shop, located in the Aegibong Peace Ecopark in the city of Gimpo, features panoramic views of the Han River and North Korean residential areas. With the site situated in a DMZ buffer zone with restricted civilian access, customers will go through an inspection point to visit the store.
