Japanese beverage maker to consider investments in local liquor producers

BRUSSELS -- Japanese beverage company Suntory Holdings plans to make India a hub as part of its overseas strategy, setting up full-scale production in the country and exporting to surrounding regions while seeking collaborations with local liquor makers.

Suntory President and CEO Takeshi Niinami told Nikkei about the plans during an interview on the sidelines of a general meeting in Brussels of the Trilateral Commission, which brings together political and business leaders from Asia, North America and Europe.
