OSAKA -- Japanese appliance maker Zojirushi is accelerating the expansion of its commercial rice cooker sales for restaurants outside of Japan.

In its priority market of China, the company aims to more than triple its current reach, supplying rice cookers to 6,000 restaurants by fiscal 2027. While entering the commercial product market in Taiwan, Zojirushi also plans to open an onigiri rice ball shop at the 2025 Osaka Expo to boost international brand recognition and help its overseas business.
