Food waste woes call for 'cool' solutions

NEW DELHI Across Asia, researchers and entrepreneurs are racking their brains for ways to increase and improve agricultural production. Just as important is what happens after the harvest. Far too much produce simply goes to waste.

Pawanexh Kohli, chief executive at India's National Center for Cold-chain Development, served up a troubling figure. "Our logistics are not able to handle more than 60% of what we produce," he said. A good chunk of what the country grows never reaches consumers.
