TOKYO -- It was a movie that defined a Japanese generation's idea of wintertime fun: "Watashi wo Ski ni Tsuretette" (literally, "Take me skiing"). The 1987 romance inspired legions of bubble-era youths to hit the slopes, helping to fuel a ski boom that lasted into the 1990s before fizzling out.
Those heady bubble days are long gone, but some of the winter magic may be back.
