Taiwanese iPhone-assembly tycoon likely discussed Toshiba chip unit, US investment

TAIPEI -- Chairman Terry Gou of key iPhone assembler Hon Hai Precision Industry, also known as Foxconn Technology Group, visited the White House on Thursday local time, though it is not known whether he met with President Donald Trump.

Footage from the Washington Post and Taiwanese cable news station TVBS showed Gou leaving the White House on Thursday evening, though when asked by reporters, the Taiwanese tycoon would neither confirm nor deny whether he spoke with the U.S. leader.
