Foxconn says Toshiba Memory bid includes Apple, SoftBank

Taiwanese manufacturer would hold 25% equity in 2.1 trillion yen deal

TAIPEI - Key iPhone assembler Hon Hai Precision Industry, or Foxconn Technology Group, is offering 2.1 trillion yen ($19.6 billion) for the memory unit of embattled Japanese conglomerate Toshiba Corporation with support from Apple, Kingston and SoftBank Group, a company executive told the Nikkei Asian Review on Friday.

The proposal calls for the Taiwanese manufacture to hold 25% of the equity, Foxconn-controlled Sharp Corporation 15%, Apple 20%, Kingston Technology 20% and SoftBank 10%, with Toshiba keeping the remaining 10%, according to Foxconn Spokesman Louis Woo.
