Grab rolls out free insurance for drivers, ride-hailers

SINGAPORE -- Ride-hailing app operator Grab is offering free personal accident insurance, the Singapore-based company announced on Thursday.

     The insurance will cover drivers and passengers "in the event of accidental death, permanent dismemberment and bodily injuries" due to traffic accidents, Grab said in a news release. The company, previously known as GrabTaxi, recently rebranded itself.
