HO CHI MINH CITY -- Vietnam will ban vaping next year, looking to snuff out the somewhat new habit before users, particularly teenagers, get hooked.
Parliament backed a resolution unanimously on Saturday to prohibit e-cigarettes, rejecting arguments that they could help addicts quit smoking tobacco, and that they are less damaging to people's health. With the move, Vietnam joins neighbors Thailand and Singapore, which have cracked down on e-cigarettes. These come in a variety of colors and flavors, and entice new customers, critics say.
