Honda to reintroduce Civic in Japan after six-year absence

Move reflects strategy to develop market-specific models for other regions

TOKYO -- Honda Motor will reintroduce its Civic, now a flagship global model, in its home market of Japan in September.

The Japanese automaker dropped the car from its domestic lineup in 2011 after its sales slumped.
