India successfully launches mini space shuttle

NEW DELHI -- India has successfully tested a mini space shuttle taking it a step closer to a reusable satellite launch vehicle that will greatly reduce the cost of space exploration.

The unmanned Reusable Launch Vehicle-Technology Demonstrator (RLV-TD), an experimental scale model, was launched on Monday from the Satish Dhawan Space Center at Sriharikota in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh.
