TOKYO -- JGC secured a $240 million deal as part of a consortium to construct a gas refinery in Indonesia, as the Japanese engineering company steps up its pursuit of similar projects amid the commodity slide.
Indonesian energy giant Medco Energi Internasional awarded the contract to JGC and local contractor Encona Inti Industri. The two will design, procure materials and build the refinery in the Aceh province. Construction is set to finish in the April-June quarter of 2018.
