Mitsubishi Electric, Toyota Motor and other Japanese companies are sweetening their financial incentives for employees who devise patent-worthy creations on the job.
Starting in April, Mitsubishi Electric staffers will qualify for a bonus totaling nearly 100,000 yen ($881) upon applying for and receiving a patent -- double the current amount.
