Japan firms to help SE Asia food processors manage hygiene

BANGKOK -- Earth Chemical and Toyo Seikan Group Holdings have joined forces to offer hygiene management services to the food processing companies of Southeast Asia.

Using a DNA chip developed by Toyo Seikan that can detect a variety of fungi, the service will identify places in factories where fungi tend to grow and then formulate strategies to improve hygiene through better food-handling and cleaning practices.
