Japan's NEC to help modernize Indian bus systems

Orders in four cities mark start of emerging-market expansion

TOKYO -- NEC has won orders seen totaling around 6 billion yen ($52.7 million) to install electronic fare collection and other bus-related systems in four Indian cities, part of the Japanese company's drive to tap demand in emerging countries where e-money has made little headway.
