TOKYO -- The umbrella organization of Japan's agricultural cooperatives will acquire a British food wholesaler as part of efforts to boost exports of domestic farm products.
The National Federation of Agricultural Cooperative Associations, better known as Zen-Noh, plans to take a 90% stake in SFG Holdings. Scotch Frost of Glasgow, an SFG group trader and distributor, is one of the largest suppliers of ethnic food in the U.K., with more than 2,500 corporate clients including high-end restaurants in London.
