Japanese concierge provider eyes Chinese travelers via UnionPay tie-up

TOKYO -- Benefit One, a luxury concierge service company, seeks to bring Chinese vacationers to upscale restaurants and hotels in Japan by offering discounts under a partnership with UnionPay International.

Benefit One will launch a website offering markdowns to UnionPay Platinum and Diamond cardholders who make reservations for restaurants, hotels, chartered helicopters and cruise ships in the Japanese company's provider network. Benefit One will handle website and booking management, receiving tens of millions of yen (10 million yen equals roughly $100,000) a year in fees from the China UnionPay subsidiary.
