SYDNEY -- Australia's Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the country will establish a critical minerals strategic reserve if his Labor Party is reelected on May 3.
Under the arrangement, the government would purchase, own, stockpile and sell critical minerals, including rare earths, produced in Australia, the prime minister said Thursday, describing the 1.2 billion Australian dollar ($760 million) reserve as a "national asset" to boost economic resilience, advance the country's interests and support allies.
