SYDNEY -- Mining giant BHP Group's iron ore operations in the state of Western Australia face a strike by freight train workers that is set to start Friday.

Train service between the Port of Port Hedland and major mining area Pilbara will be suspended for 24 hours on Friday as part of the strike. Also, for one week starting Saturday, some trains will be limited to speeds of 30 kilometers per hour. Trains transporting fuel and other goods also will be suspended.
