SYDNEY -- Additional government support for a rare earth refinery planned for Western Australia by mineral sands miner Iluka has done little to ease concerns over the project's potential profitability in an industry dominated by China.
The company announced on Friday that it had secured a further 400 million Australian dollars ($257 million) from Canberra, adding to the AU$1.25 billion it received in 2022 for the facility in Eneabba.
