Indonesia relaxes export ban to allow 37 coal vessels to depart

Partial easing comes amid pressure from Asian nations and to avoid 'fire risks'

JAKARTA -- Indonesia has allowed 37 vessels previously loaded with coal to leave the country, the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment said on Thursday.

The partial relaxation comes amid lobbying by other Asian nations that rely on supplies from the archipelago.
