BALI, Indonesia -- Indonesia is "confident" it can boost palm oil production in the coming years to meet the country's rising demand for biofuel and help support President Prabowo Subianto's goal to achieve food security, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said Thursday.

The Indonesian government launched a mandatory B35 biodiesel program in February last year, requiring a 35% blend of palm oil, and is scheduled to extend this to 40% in 2025, as part of efforts to curb both carbon emissions and its rising oil import bill.
