TOKYO -- Liquefied natural gas is changing hands at the highest price level in roughly three years on spot markets in Asia, lifted by expectations of a tighter market following troubles at European supply facilities.

Asian spot prices for LNG have climbed slightly more than 10% over the past month to around $10.50 per million British thermal units. The latest rise has pushed the price 90% or so higher than half a year ago.
