Malaysian ringgit climbs to 1-month high on robust economy

Central bank's pause on rate cuts also contributes to rally against dollar

TOKYO -- The Malaysian ringgit appreciated to a high not seen in a month against the dollar this week, driven by a strong economy coupled with the central bank holding off on rate cuts.

The ringgit touched 4.43 to the greenback on Wednesday, a level last reached in mid-December. The currency also strengthened to a similar level on Thursday.
